Katara's Necklace- Fire Nation

And for the next installment in jewelry design- Katara's Necklace part 2, the Fire Nation edition! Unlike the other one, I did not mock this one up carefully beforehand, because it was kind of an accident. I just saw the beads in the store and could see exactly how they would come together as a necklace!

For my design concepts, I'm looking not to reproduce what you see in the show but turn it into the "real" version, what that cartoon might have been drawn to represent. For this necklace, because of it's arrow shape, an elegant draping design was a must, and it also provided the color scheme- red and gold. Originally I was going to paint the center pendant gold so it would match the design on the show more, and use red beads for trim- but to be perfectly honest, when I tried it, the gold just didn't look as nice as the red. And it's hard to tell with the crappy lighting but the beads are all a very nice, deep blood red color.

This necklace is made out of wire so the pieces are bendable, allowing the strands to keep the shape and not droop toward the center.
