Sorry for posting this so late, things have been a little crazy with the holidays. At any rate, here it is, the group photo of my best friends- or at least their alter egos in World of Warcraft. Characters are:
L - R (back row): Onorlin, Lindsy's Undead priest Debrashidu, Pat's Troll rogue (sporting our talbard) Voniferous, Cody's Blood Elf hunter (sitting on the cart) Rada, Doug's Tauren shaman
L - R (Front row): Vailiya, my Blood Elf Frost mage Iggore, Mike's Blood Elf Arcane mage
And, of course, the One Foot Pony.
Our guild is my D&D gaming group, so most of the inside jokes shown here are events that happened in our games. For those curious, here's an explanation:
Famous for his unusual characters, Pat's "crazy" in our pen & paper RIFTS game had several derangements including his belief that a pink tutu was the height of fashion, and a tendency for pyrotechnics. He is seen here with his wife, who couldn't keep him from the tutu but is wisely keeping him away from the zippo.
There's one in every gaming group. Cody is famous (and infamous) for his ill-conceived plans, which invariably end in his own death, and usually others as well. Here he is thrown out with our dead- not dead like the rest of the cart, but of course, this is Cody. It's only a matter of time.
Rada is Doug's shaman, taking the place of his many Dwarven "Pretenders" in D&D. They are known for being mighty statted warriors that withdraw the instant trouble arrives. Which is why he's shown here as frightened by the One Foot Pony.
One Foot Pony, D&D munchkin tactics at their finest. This is one of Cody's infamous ideas- which was born in a restricted 4ft dungeon, where his halfling insisted on charging on his mount. "So what, you have a one foot pony?" The game was halted for two hours due to hysterical laughter and merciless teasing. The Pony still gets a chuckle today.
My moment of infamy was my introduction to the game. I began my gaming career as a D&D Sorcerer (shown here as a low-level WoW Mage) and as I was unsure of what I was doing, I went with a spell that claims it never misses, Magic Missile. Considering this is just about the most pathetic spell in existence, I have been termed the Magic Missile Mistress ever since. lol
Mike is famous for his interesting solutions to otherwise mundane problems. When we were being chased by a Tarrasque, this was his Jurassic Park-inspired warning system. Classic Mike, it's suggested here as a Fel Reaver detector for those pesky Outlands menaces. lol
Well, that's my group. ^_^ This image was used on a mousepad that I had made for each of these fine players as a Christmas gift, if you're wondering about the weird shape. Hope you all had a great one!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
